BLACK PEARL KING OYSTER

Black Pearl King Oyster is a hybrid oyster mushroom that combines the thick, meaty stem structure of King Oyster mushrooms with darker caps and improved clustering. It offers a balance of yield, texture, and flavor, making it popular with both growers and chefs.

The flesh is firm and dense, ideal for slicing and pan-searing. Compared to standard oysters, Black Pearl varieties offer better shelf life and more uniform fruiting, which is valuable in commercial production.


Complete Recipe — Black Pearl King Oyster Marsala

Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

  • 1 lb Black Pearl King Oyster mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small shallot, minced
  • ¾ cup Marsala wine
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Slice mushrooms lengthwise into thick strips.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Sauté mushrooms until deeply browned on both sides; remove and set aside.
  4. Add shallot to pan; cook until translucent.
  5. Deglaze with Marsala wine; simmer until reduced by half.
  6. Stir in cream and simmer until sauce thickens.
  7. Return mushrooms to pan, coat with sauce, season to taste.
Garnish with parsley and serve over pasta or mashed potatoes.
